Yuxuan Chen

I am Yuxuan Chen, a PhD candidate at HKUST(GZ), currently on the 2026–2027 academic job market.

I study entrepreneurship under institutional discontinuity—how entrepreneurs and firms create, adapt, and innovate when market institutions are nascent, disrupted, or fundamentally reconfigured. Geoeconomic fragmentation and trade-policy uncertainty make these questions increasingly important, especially for entrepreneurs in emerging markets. My research links historical institutional transitions with contemporary geoeconomic shocks to explain how entrepreneurs adapt, mobilize resources, and contribute to innovation and market formation.
